Russell Howard announces baby son's death
Comedian Russell Howard and his wife, NHS doctor Cerys Morgan, have announced the heartbreaking news that their baby son, Felix, died shortly after birth earlier this year. Howard shared the news on Instagram on Friday, September 4, 2026, describing the loss as a devastating time for their family. In his statement, Howard expressed profound gratitude for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and humanity shown by the NHS staff who cared for them. He specifically mentioned a bereavement midwife named Lauren, who had experienced a similar personal tragedy and retrained to support other families. Howard and Morgan were able to spend precious hours with their son, Felix, after he was placed in a cool cot, allowing them to hold him, talk to him, and express their love. These moments are described as among their most cherished memories. The couple, who had not publicly announced Morgan's pregnancy with their second child, are establishing The Felix Foundation in their son's memory. The foundation aims to support parents, siblings, and other family members affected by miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, neonatal death, and related bereavement.
