Rumer Willis undergoes genetic testing for Alzheimer's risk

Published 25 August 2026

Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, has revealed she underwent genetic testing to assess her risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, a decision she says was prompted by her family's history with dementia and other health conditions. The 38-year-old actress shared that her father's 2023 diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia, or FTD, led her to take a more proactive approach to her own health. Willis partnered with health testing company Function to take an APOE genetic test, which provides information about a person's genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's. In an interview with People magazine, she explained her motivation.
