RSS Chief Bhagwat Says Hindus Wanting No Muslims in India Are Not Hindu

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated on Saturday that any Hindu who believes Muslims should have no place in India would cease to be a Hindu, emphasizing that the concept of a Hindu Rashtra does not exclude religious minorities. Bhagwat made the remarks while addressing the One World One Humanity Faith Leaders Summit in New York City, a gathering that brought together leaders from various faiths. Speaking on August 29, 2026, Bhagwat recalled a question he was asked by members of the Muslim community during a 2018 lecture series. "Muslim brothers asked me a question: You are a Hindu organisation, you see Hindu Rashtra, what about us Muslims? Would you drive us out?" Bhagwat recounted.
