Robinhood unveils AI agents and expanded trading plans
Robinhood Markets announced a broad expansion of its trading platform at its HOOD Summit in Houston on September 29, introducing AI-powered trading agents and outlining plans for weekend stock trading, crypto perpetual futures and other tools aimed at active investors. Several features are rolling out now, while others remain planned and do not have confirmed launch dates. The central announcement was Robinhood Agents, an in-app service that lets customers create dedicated accounts for AI models to research markets and place trades. Robinhood said trade approvals are enabled by default, and agents can trade only with funds in those accounts. Customers will be able to set limits and, according to the company, may turn off the approval requirement. The agents cannot use margin at launch. A planned feature called Loops would let customers set recurring instructions for agents to monitor markets and act when specified conditions are met. Robinhood said Agents and related applications began rolling out to summit attendees. The company did not establish when access would extend more broadly.
