Robin Räikkönen Joins Red Bull Junior Team
Eleven-year-old Robin Räikkönen, son of 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen, is set to join the Red Bull Junior Team in 2027. The announcement marks a significant step for the young Finn, who has impressed in karting championships and is aiming to follow in his father's celebrated motorsport career. Red Bull confirmed the development, highlighting their commitment to nurturing young talent through their renowned driver academy. Robin Räikkönen, nicknamed "Ace," has already amassed a collection of trophies in national and international karting competitions, demonstrating speed, racecraft, and natural talent. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies praised the youngster's abilities, noting his maturity and clear focus on driving. Mekies emphasized that the program's goal is to develop Räikkönen gradually, without placing undue pressure on his shoulders, acknowledging the long path of motorsport development. "Our goal is to develop him step by step, without placing any unnecessary pressure on his shoulders," Mekies stated. "The path through motorsport is a long one, and we will give him the time, support and resources he needs to maximise his potential.
