Richarlison agrees Trabzonspor move as Tottenham negotiate fee

Published 3 September 2026

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has verbally agreed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor, but the transfer remains pending as the two clubs negotiate a fee before the Turkish window closes on Friday, September 4, 2026. The Brazilian international, who is 29, has reportedly accepted a contract that would triple his current salary, according to multiple reports. Tottenham have rejected two initial offers from Trabzonspor, valued at 15 million pounds and 20 million pounds, and are seeking a higher fee. The move comes after a proposed return to former club Everton collapsed during the English transfer window. Tottenham had agreed a fee with Everton for Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye, with Richarlison expected to move in the opposite direction as part of a separate deal. However, Richarlison failed to agree personal terms with Everton, ending that possibility. Iliman Ndiaye subsequently joined Manchester City. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed after the club's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on August 30 that Richarlison had asked to leave. De Zerbi stated that Richarlison had "said too many times he wants to leave.
