Registered offender arrested in Glendale for parole violation

Calese Crowder, a 39-year-old registered offender known for alleged inappropriate behavior, has been arrested again in Glendale, California, after police responded to reports of a man acting suspiciously and attempting to sniff people at two businesses. The arrest occurred on Friday, August 28, 2026, on suspicion of violating his parole. Glendale police were called to a grocery store on Glenoaks Boulevard following reports of a man crouching and appearing to smell customers. A similar report was received from a nearby Marshalls department store. Reviewing surveillance footage from both locations, officers identified Crowder as the suspect. He was apprehended shortly thereafter in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard and taken into custody without bail, pending a hearing. Crowder has a history of similar offenses dating back to 2021 in Glendale and Burbank. Store managers have described his behavior as a "weird fetish" and "creepy." In one instance at the Big Sav grocery store, security footage reportedly showed Crowder in a squatting position behind an employee stocking shelves. The store manager stated this was the third time he had observed Crowder engaging in such behavior.
