Ree Drummond’s Foster Son Jamar Goff Arrested in Alabama

Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old foster son of television personality Ree Drummond, was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 15 and booked on four charges, including drug possession, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude an officer, according to online court records. His bond was set at $37,000. Reports citing a jail lookup said he remained in custody as of September 24. The arrest followed an encounter on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus, according to court documents described in the reports. An officer responding to a call about a suspicious person allegedly found Goff shirtless and asleep near a fountain. The documents say Goff told the officer he was waiting for someone to sell him “ice,” a slang term for methamphetamine. The officer then learned of an outstanding warrant and attempted to arrest him, according to the court-document account. Goff allegedly ran and struck an officer with an open palm. The accounts differ in some details about where the alleged strike occurred; one report said it happened near a hospital entrance and identified the officer as a woman.
