Recovery site opens for NFTs rescued from Magic Eden exploit

A recovery site has opened for users seeking to reclaim nonfungible tokens moved into protective custody during a Magic Eden-related exploit, according to 0xQuit, the Yuga Labs blockchain executive who led the rescue. The claim process applies only to assets the whitehat operation recovered, and users must first revoke the affected Payment Processor V2 approval. The incident involved permissions granted to Limit Break’s Payment Processor V2, a system Magic Eden said it had stopped using in October 2024. Magic Eden advised former users to revoke approvals on Ethereum, Polygon and Base, and said no live listings on its marketplace were affected. The marketplace had closed its EVM marketplace in the first quarter of 2026. The recovery site was reported open on September 26. 0xQuit said claiming is free apart from standard network gas fees. He also warned that canceling listings does not address the vulnerability: the exploit relies on standing wallet approval. Only NFTs recovered by the whitehat operation can be claimed through the site; assets still held by exploiters cannot be retrieved through this process.
