Rathour says Dravid hands-off as Dublin Guardians owner

Vikram Rathour, the former India batting coach now serving as head coach of Dublin Guardians, says Rahul Dravid has taken a hands-off approach to his role as co-owner of the franchise in the inaugural European T20 Premier League, remaining supportive even as the team endured a difficult start to the tournament. Dublin Guardians, led by Ravichandran Ashwin, lost their first five matches before recording their first win on September 9, defeating Belfast Wolves by eight wickets. After six matches the side sits fifth in the standings with one win, two points and a net run rate of -0.960. Rathour said Dravid, who previously worked alongside him with India and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has not interfered in cricketing decisions such as team selection or match strategy. Rahul is behaving like an owner, Rathour said, adding that Dravid has not been too involved. He noted that Dravid's experience as a former India head coach means he understands how results can go, and that he has been very supportive through the initial phase of the tournament when the team did not win any of its first five games.
