Raphinha hat-trick powers Barcelona past Sevilla

Published 20 September 2026

Raphinha scored a hat-trick to lead Barcelona to a 3-1 comeback victory over Sevilla on Saturday, maintaining their perfect start to the 2026-27 La Liga season. The Brazilian forward struck in the 22nd, 52nd, and 69th minutes at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium after Youssouf Fofana had given Sevilla an early lead. Fofana opened the scoring in the 19th minute, rising to head home a cross from Félix Correia and putting the hosts ahead. Barcelona responded quickly, with Raphinha equalizing just three minutes later. Andreas Christensen played a precise pass to Raphinha, who advanced into the box and fired a low shot into the corner. The match remained level at 1-1 until halftime, with Sevilla continuing to press and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal hitting the post early in the game. Barcelona emerged with greater intensity after the break and took the lead in the 52nd minute. Yamal played a key role, chipping the ball into the area after a rebound, allowing Raphinha to head home and complete the turnaround. Raphinha completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute. Rodri recovered possession and found Yamal, whose pass released Raphinha behind the defense.
