Ram Temple Trust Restructures With New Secretary and Trustees

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced a major organizational restructuring on September 2, 2026, appointing Swami Govind Dev Giri as its new General Secretary and naming three new trustees, including its first woman member. The changes follow the resignation of former General Secretary Champat Rai amid allegations of donation theft at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Giri, a prominent spiritual figure and existing trustee, succeeds Rai, who stepped down taking moral responsibility in connection with the controversy. The Trust also appointed retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as its first Chief Executive Officer, a newly created post to oversee administrative functions. The appointments were finalized during a key meeting of the Trust held at the Mani Ram Das Chhawani in Ayodhya. As part of the reshuffle, three new trustees were inducted to fill vacancies. Dr. Nirmala Yadav, a 66-year-old retired college principal from Shikohabad, Uttar Pradesh, becomes the first woman on the Trust's governing body. Madan Mohan Pandey, a 74-year-old advocate from Ayodhya, brings decades of legal experience from the Ram Janmabhoomi litigation.
