Raaka Film Sets Guinness Record for Real-Time Motion Capture

The upcoming Indian film "Raaka" has set a Guinness World Record for the most people motion-captured in real time, with 37 performers captured simultaneously during a single session. The achievement was officially certified on September 15, 2026, and the certificate was presented to lead actor Allu Arjun and director Atlee at a ceremony. The record attempt, which took place in Mumbai, was part of a motion-capture exercise created for the film. To execute the feat, the production deployed 92 optical motion-capture cameras within an advanced technical ecosystem. This setup integrated capture, calibration, networking, synchronization, real-time Unreal visualization, witness cameras, facial capture, and multiple specialist teams. The captured performers ranged in age from a 4-year-old child to a 70-year-old. The challenge involved accurately capturing and preserving the integrity of all 37 individual performances simultaneously within one capture volume. The film's VFX producer developed a new motion-capture pipeline and workflow tailored to the project's scale and technical requirements.
