Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Powers First Googlebook Laptops

Qualcomm Technologies announced on September 21, 2026, a collaboration with Google to bring its Snapdragon X Elite platform to the first Googlebook laptops, a new premium category of computers designed around Google's Gemini Intelligence. Dell and HP are the first manufacturers shipping Googlebooks powered by the chip, with their models available for preorder. Dell is offering the Dell XPS Googlebook, while HP has introduced the HP Googlebook 14. Additional devices from Acer, Asus, and Lenovo are expected to follow. Googlebook laptops run Googlebook OS, an operating system that merges the Android technology stack with ChromeOS foundations and supports up to 10 years of updates, according to one report. The machines support thousands of native Android applications and games, along with cross-device experiences linking the laptop to Snapdragon-powered Android phones and tablets. The Snapdragon X Elite platform features a 12-core CPU, an Adreno GPU, and a Hexagon NPU delivering up to 45 TOPS for AI tasks. One report specified that the Snapdragon X1E80100 chip runs at up to 4.0 GHz on a 4nm process and supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
