Pune realtor murder Third arrest in conspiracy
Pune Rural police have arrested a third suspect in the murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, alleging he was part of a conspiracy to kill the victim at Lohagad Fort in June. The arrested man, identified as Ritesh Hange, 22, is a friend of Chetan Chaudhary, who is accused of carrying out the killing along with Agarwal's fiancée, Siya Goyal. Hange was taken into custody on Friday night and produced before the Vadgaon Maval session court, which remanded him to police custody until September 12, according to Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill. The case centers on the death of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Police say Goyal, 20, and Chaudhary, 22, committed the act as part of a plot to eliminate Agarwal, whom they viewed as an obstacle to their relationship. Agarwal and Goyal had become engaged in February, but investigators claim Goyal had been in a relationship with Chaudhary since October of the previous year and was unwilling to proceed with the marriage. Initially, Agarwal's death was ruled an accident after Goyal claimed he slipped while taking photographs near the fort's edge.
