PSG Begins Champions League Defense With Dominant Win
Paris Saint-Germain commenced their Champions League title defense with a commanding 6-1 home victory over Slovan Bratislava. New signing Ferran Torres was the standout performer, netting a hat-trick on his Champions League debut for the French club. Ousmane Dembélé also contributed significantly, scoring twice and providing assists for two of Torres's goals. The match, played at the Parc des Princes, saw PSG establish a dominant position early on. Dembélé opened the scoring in the 17th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound after a shot from Nuno Mendes struck the post. He doubled the lead six minutes later with a header from a deflected cross by Dro Fernandez. Dembélé then turned provider, setting up Torres for a tap-in to give PSG a 3-0 advantage by halftime. Torres extended his tally just two minutes into the second half with a precise finish after a run by Maghnes Akliouche. He completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute, converting a corner from Dembélé. Slovan Bratislava managed a consolation goal through Suleiman Camara, but Fabian Ruiz sealed PSG's emphatic win with their sixth goal two minutes from full-time.
