Princess of Wales visits hospital to thank staff for cancer care
Catherine, Princess of Wales, made a surprise visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London on September 11, 2026, to thank staff for her cancer care and to see how funds from her recent charity challenge will support a new holistic care center. The visit marked her return to the hospital where she received preventative chemotherapy in 2024 following an abdominal surgery that revealed cancer. During the private engagement, the Princess met with senior executives, clinicians, and patients currently undergoing treatment. She was briefed on the development of a new Centre for Holistic Wellbeing and Recovery, a project being funded in part by money she raised. "This was my small way of being able to give back and say thank you to you," Catherine told staff. "I had incredible care here and support from a huge team and I'm really, really grateful on a personal level." The Princess emphasized the importance of support beyond clinical treatment, stating, "The holistic care, the treatments and therapeutic support alongside the clinical pathway is so important. It makes a big difference.
