Princess of Wales joins Pulborough lunch and minibus journey
The Princess of Wales joined a weekly community lunch in Pulborough, West Sussex, after accompanying passengers on a volunteer minibus service, taking part in a visit focused on local connections and support for residents. At Pulborough Village Hall, she spoke with diners and volunteers who run the regular gathering. During lunch, attendee Lynda Jones joked that the princess never ate crisps. The Princess of Wales replied that she liked salted crisps and took one, according to accounts of the exchange. Before reaching the hall, the princess joined a West Sussex Minibuses pickup journey and helped passengers board. The service transports people from their homes to community activities, and the visit gave her an opportunity to meet volunteers and passengers along the route. In a post about the visit, the Princess of Wales said opportunities to come together can help people make friends, reduce isolation and support wellbeing. She also praised everyday acts that help build stronger, more connected communities. Her comments reflected what she heard from attendees about the value of meeting regularly and having a place to feel connected. The lunch group meets weekly.
