Prince Harry says children now eat Marmite on crumpets

Prince Harry said his children Archie and Lilibet now eat Marmite on crumpets since the family returned to the United Kingdom from California, describing the change as a big moment for him. The Duke of Sussex, 42, made the remarks in an interview at the 2026 WellChild Awards in London, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Monday, September 21. The charity, which supports seriously ill children and their families, has counted Harry as a patron since 2007. Asked about the most British thing he had done with his family since returning to the UK, Harry first pointed to country walks before turning to food. "OK yes Marmite on crumpets please tell me that is a British thing because it has always been in my life and now the kids are eating Marmite on crumpets which is a big moment for me," he said. Pressed on whether Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, actually enjoy the yeast spread, he replied, "They do, they do very much." Harry added that the children had previously teased him for keeping Marmite in the house while the family lived in the United States. "They used to dis me for having Marmite in the house but now we are in the UK that is kind of water under the bridge," he said.
