Prince Harry Lifts Children's Monday Blues at WellChild Awards

Prince Harry described how he lifted his children's Monday morning blues before attending the WellChild Awards in London on September 21, 2026, telling HELLO! Magazine that Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, had woken up in a difficult mood at breakfast as they adjust to their new school term in the United Kingdom. At breakfast this morning, they had a bit of Monday morning blues, Harry said, adding that there is always something like Sunday night blues or boarding school when you have been away or before you go to school. Rather than let the mood continue, Harry said he told the children exactly what he would be doing that evening, and they were genuinely fascinated and asking all sorts of questions. The Duke of Sussex was attending the annual WellChild Awards, which recognize the achievements of seriously ill children and those who care for them. Harry has been a patron of the organization since 2007 and has attended 15 of the ceremonies. He said becoming a father in 2019 and 2021 had changed his perspective on the event. Once you become a parent, it does change everything, Harry said.
