Presidents Cup 2026 tees off at Medinah with US seeking 11th straight win

The 2026 Presidents Cup begins this week at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, with the United States team seeking an 11th consecutive victory over the International side in the biennial team matchplay event. Competition runs from September 22 to 27, 2026, with team practice days on Tuesday and Wednesday and matches beginning Thursday, September 24, and running through Sunday, September 27. Tee times and matchups had not been released as of Monday. The United States holds a 13-11 all-time record in the event, which was first played in 1994, and has won the past 10 editions. The International team's only victory came in 1998, with the 2003 event ending tied. The Americans won the last playing in 2024 at Royal Montreal Golf Club by 18.5 to 11.5. Captains Brandt Snedeker for the United States and Geoff Ogilvy for the Internationals were confirmed in April 2025. Each team fields 12 players, made up of six automatic qualifiers and six captain's picks. The format spans four days rather than the three used at the Ryder Cup.
