Premier League confirms seven Boxing Day fixtures for 2026
The Premier League has confirmed its festive fixture schedule for the 2026-27 season, announcing seven matches for Boxing Day as the traditional full slate of December 26 games returns to the calendar. Aston Villa will host Leeds United at 12:30pm in the opening game, broadcast on TNT Sports, while Newcastle United against Manchester City closes the day at 8pm on Sky Sports. The remaining Boxing Day fixtures include Everton v Sunderland, Fulham v Brighton, Ipswich v Brentford, Tottenham v Bournemouth and Hull v Liverpool, the latter kicking off at 5:30pm. The announcement came earlier than usual, giving supporters more than three months' notice to plan travel and accommodation for the busy winter period. According to the Premier League, the early release follows consultation with the Football Supporters Association and representatives from club Fan Advisory Boards. Last season's selections were criticised after Newcastle fans faced a long round trip for an 8pm Boxing Day kick-off at Old Trafford, and the Football Supporters Association publicly condemned that scheduling as thoughtless.
