Prabhsimran scores 125* after T20I squad omission
Prabhsimran Singh responded to his omission from India's T20I squad for the upcoming Afghanistan series with a blistering unbeaten 125 off just 47 balls in a domestic league match on Tuesday. The wicketkeeper-batter's explosive innings came just hours after the national team was announced, showcasing his form and keeping him in the selectors' minds. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the 15-member squad on Tuesday for the three-match series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to begin on September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The team will be led by Shreyas Iyer, with Tilak Varma as his deputy. The series marks the return of several key players, including pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is included subject to fitness clearance after missing the recent Test series in Sri Lanka due to a knee injury. All-rounders Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and pacer Harshit Rana are also named subject to fitness. A significant change in the squad is the return of wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who was rested for the preceding T20I series against Zimbabwe in July.
