POCO Launches F9 Ultra and F9 Pro With 185Hz Displays and 8,050mAh Battery
POCO has launched its new F9 series of smartphones, the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro, marking a significant update to its flagship lineup with a focus on gaming performance, display technology, and battery life. The devices were unveiled globally on September 1, 2026. A key talking point is POCO's decision to equip the top-tier F9 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same processor used in its predecessor, the F8 Ultra. The company explained that rising memory costs across the industry influenced this strategy. "Rising memory costs are putting a lot of pressure on all of us in the smartphone industry," said Kang Lou, POCO's senior product manager. "We believe performance is a combination of everything... having the latest chipset will cost us a lot more on the latest phone." POCO stated it prioritizes delivering a complete performance package over simply chasing the newest chipset. Both models feature a dedicated VisionBoost D8 graphics chip, which enables a Smart frame rate of up to 185FPS in supported games. This is paired with a 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED display, which debuts the new M11 luminescent material capable of reaching 4,500 nits of peak brightness.
