Perez Hilton's Family Clarifies His Condition, Denies False Reports
The family of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has issued a public statement clarifying his condition and pushing back against what they describe as false media reports. The update, posted on Hilton's official website, confirms that he has transitioned from hospital care to a residential psychiatric treatment program following a self-harm incident on August 4. Hilton, 48, was hospitalized after a disturbing livestream on TikTok in which he appeared to engage in acts of self-harm. Miami-Dade police confirmed they responded to his home for what was suspected to be a possible suicide attempt. After weeks of treatment for physical injuries, his family stated he entered a residential facility to focus fully on his mental health recovery. The family's statement directly addressed and denied specific claims from a recent media report. "To be clear, Perez has not lost 10 years of his memory, does not believe it's 2016, and is not confused about where he is," the statement read. "He is lucid and communicates clearly with his family. He does not have stitches and is not covered in gauze. And no, he has not asked anyone to bring Katy Perry to see him or mentioned her.
