Pedestrian dies after being struck by car on M8 near Paisley

A 45-year-old man has died after being struck by a car while on the M8 motorway near Paisley on Sunday night. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 11:45 PM on September 13, 2026, near Junction 29 of the motorway, close to Glasgow Airport. Police Scotland confirmed that the pedestrian was hit by a black Mini Cooper. Emergency services attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed. No other injuries were reported in the incident. The M8 was closed in both directions overnight to allow for a full investigation by road policing officers. The road was reopened to traffic at around 8:55 AM on Monday, September 14.
