Peacock Renews The Traitors for Three More Seasons

Peacock has renewed its Emmy-winning reality competition series "The Traitors" for three additional seasons, extending the show through its eighth season. The announcement follows the series' historic sweep at the Emmy Awards on September 14, where it won all seven awards for which it was nominated, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for Alan Cumming. The renewal, announced on September 16, comes ahead of the fifth season's debut on Peacock in 2027. Cumming has signed on to return as host for the additional seasons. The series, based on a Dutch format, is produced by Studio Lambert. The decision was bolstered by strong performance for the show's fourth season, which aired earlier in 2026. According to Peacock and Nielsen data, the fourth season achieved the series' highest viewership to date, marking a 72% increase over the third season. Alongside the main series renewal, NBCUniversal is expanding the franchise with a new civilian version titled "The Traitors New Blood." This spinoff premieres on NBC on September 17, 2026, with a special two-hour extended episode airing from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
