Peacock has released the official trailer for "Crystal Lake," a new prequel series to the Friday the 13th horror franchise. The eight-episode series, produced by A24, is set to premiere on October 15, 2026. The trailer reveals that the story is set in 1971, nearly a year after the drowning of young Jason Voorhees. It follows his mother, Pamela Voorhees, as she struggles with profound grief. According to the series logline, when two strangers arrive at her door investigating her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leading the townspeople to question who Pamela really is.
