Paul Aron to drive Alpine F1 at Monza Sep 4

Estonian reserve driver Paul Aron will take the wheel of an Alpine Formula 1 car for the first free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Monza. Aron will deputize for regular driver Pierre Gasly, marking his fourth appearance in a practice session this season and fulfilling Alpine's obligation to provide rookie running. This outing represents another opportunity for the 22-year-old Aron to impress as he continues his development towards a full-time F1 career. He previously drove for Alpine in practice at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July, replacing Franco Colapinto. His 2026 season also includes two practice sessions with Audi, conducted under a loan agreement between the teams, where he stood in for Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto.
