Patsy Kensit returns as Sadie King in Emmerdale helicopter scene

Published 2 September 2026

Actress Patsy Kensit has made a dramatic return to the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, reprising her role as the villainous Sadie King after a 20-year absence. The character made her explosive comeback in the episode released on ITVX on September 2, 2026, arriving in the Yorkshire village by helicopter, mirroring her original debut in 2004. The scene depicted Sadie landing near the site where her former husband, Jimmy King, recently died in a crash. As villagers, including Jimmy's widow Nicola and his former flame Charity Dingle, paid their respects, Sadie emerged from the helicopter dressed in black. She laid a single red rose at the crash site before later revealing a shocking secret: she claimed to have been involved in a secret three-year affair with Jimmy, leaving Nicola deeply skeptical and the village in turmoil. Kensit, 58, originally played the ruthless social climber from 2004 to 2006. During that stint, Sadie was central to major storylines involving affairs with Cain Dingle and Robert Sugden, and a plot to kidnap Tom King that ended with Cain betraying her and escaping with the ransom money. Her return is scheduled for a six-month stint.
