Over 100 trapped in Nepal hydropower tunnel after floods
More than 100 people remained trapped inside a hydropower tunnel in Nepal on Friday as rescue teams struggled against destroyed access points and fast-moving floodwaters following devastating flash floods in the country's northern region. The Nepal Army had successfully rescued approximately 350 workers and locals from the Trishuli 3A hydropower project tunnel in Rasuwa district, one of the hardest-hit areas, but the search for the remaining individuals continued under perilous conditions. The rescue operation was launched after flash floods swept through the Himalayan nation's northern border region, destroying roads, bridges, and critical hydropower infrastructure.
