The Osun State Government has issued a strong appeal for calm and warned against any attempt to reignite violence following the recently concluded governorship election. In a statement released on Sunday, August 23, 2026, the government expressed deep concern over reports of planned disruptions in some local government areas and motor parks, urging all political actors and residents to embrace reconciliation and allow peace to prevail. Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, stated that the state is in a critical period of post-election reconciliation and peacebuilding.
