OPPO Unveils ColorOS 17, Global Rollout Set for October 29

Published 13 October 2026

OPPO unveiled ColorOS 17 globally on October 13, introducing its Android 17-based software with a redesigned interface, performance changes and expanded artificial-intelligence features. The company says the global rollout is scheduled to begin October 29, with additional devices set to receive the update through the first quarter of 2027. OPPO describes the interface as Living Flow Design, built around visual effects, fluid motion and touch-responsive feedback. The software also uses a Unified Rendering Architecture and updated rendering and system engines to support the changes. OPPO says the architecture reduces rendering workloads by up to 30% and rendering-related RAM use by up to 25% compared with the previous generation. The company claims ColorOS 17 improves app-launch stability by 55% and can keep more than 25% more apps in memory than the previous version. These are OPPO’s comparisons; the supplied reports provide no independent performance tests. OPPO also says Gallery thumbnails load up to 50% faster on first launch than in ColorOS 16. AI Mind Pilot is among the update’s central additions.
