Aviation pioneer Wally Funk, who became the oldest woman to travel to space, has died at the age of 87. She died peacefully on Wednesday evening in her apartment at an assisted living facility in Grapevine, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The city of Grapevine confirmed her death in a statement on Thursday.
