Oladipo seeks NBA comeback, Heat reportedly interested

Two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo is actively seeking a return to the NBA, publicly appealing for an opportunity to prove his health and readiness after a career hampered by significant injuries. Oladipo penned an open letter published on September 1, 2026, in The Players Tribune, addressing league general managers and expressing his belief that he can still contribute winning basketball. "I believe my body is finally right," Oladipo wrote in his letter. "I believe I still have GREAT and more importantly WINNING basketball in front of me. I believe I can be a valuable contributor to an NBA locker room. And what I'm asking for right now is an opportunity to prove it." Oladipo, 34, has not played in an NBA game since tearing the patellar tendon in his left knee during the Miami Heat's 2023 playoff run. His injury history includes rupturing the quadriceps tendon above his right knee in January 2019, and he has not played more than 42 games in a season since 2017-18. He spent time playing overseas and in the NBA G League, most recently appearing for the Wisconsin Herd during the 2025-26 season, where he averaged 13.4 points in 26 games.
