Ogun Police Rescue Three Children, Arrest Suspected Child-Stealing Gang

Police in Nigeria's Ogun State have arrested three women suspected of operating a child-stealing syndicate and rescued three children, including a 14-year-old girl allegedly sold for 500,000 naira. The arrests and rescues were announced by the Ogun Police Command on Friday, September 11, 2026. The suspects were identified as Kikelomo Jimoh, 36, Kayode Elizabeth, and Blessing Anochike, 60. According to the police statement, the breakthrough followed an intelligence-led investigation into a reported case of child stealing. Jimoh was the first to be arrested. During interrogation, she confessed and led detectives to the residence of Anochike, where the children were being held. The rescued children were named as Christiana Olowokere, 14, Olamilekan Abdurusheed, 16, and Adeniji Rebecca, 12. Police said preliminary findings indicate that Christiana was allegedly sold for 500,000 naira. Olamilekan, who had earlier left his parents' home, was subsequently allegedly abducted. The circumstances surrounding the movement and custody of Adeniji Rebecca are explicitly stated as under investigation.
