Oakland Police Investigate Deaths of Fashion Designers
Oakland police are investigating the deaths of fashion designers Bryan Walker, 61, and Michelle Min, 63, who were found with gunshot wounds outside their home on October 2. A firearm was recovered, but investigators have not determined who fired it or announced a conclusion about what happened. The couple, who founded the women’s clothing brand Bryn Walker, were found in the Panoramic Hill area of Oakland after reports of gunshots. Responding officers attempted lifesaving measures before paramedics arrived, but Walker and Min were pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports of the police response. Oakland police are leading the investigation and have not ruled out a murder-suicide. Paul Min, Michelle Min’s brother, said he believed Walker shot his sister and then himself. Police have not confirmed that account. Paul Min also described financial losses and concerns about Walker’s mental health, saying Walker had suggested that the three of them “end things.” He said he and his sister had discussed getting Walker psychiatric treatment. Those claims have not been confirmed by police, and investigators have not identified a motive.
