NYSE and Blockchain.com outline tokenized stock access plan
NYSE Group and Blockchain.com have signed a preliminary agreement for Blockchain.com to distribute tokenized U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds through NYSE’s planned digital alternative trading system, the companies said. The proposal remains subject to required regulatory approvals, and the venue is not yet live. Under the memorandum of understanding, Blockchain.com would provide a route for eligible customers to access securities traded through the planned venue, while NYSE would operate the trading infrastructure. The companies have not announced a launch date, identified which stocks or ETFs might be available first, or specified the countries and customers that would qualify. The MOU also does not disclose commercial terms, custody arrangements or how securities accounts would be opened. The agreement includes plans to exchange market data. ICE Data Services, an affiliate of NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange, plans to distribute Blockchain.com’s cryptocurrency data and analytics to its subscribers. Blockchain.com plans to add selected ICE and NYSE data feeds to its app.
