Nvidia Posts Record Revenue, Forms Political PAC Amid AI Boom

Nvidia reported record quarterly revenue and an upbeat forecast for artificial intelligence demand, while simultaneously expanding its political presence in Washington with the formation of a new employee-funded political action committee. The dual announcements underscore the chipmaker's dominant position in the AI boom and its growing efforts to influence the policy landscape shaping the technology's future. The company announced on August 27 that its fiscal second-quarter revenue reached $96.2 billion, a 106% increase from the same period last year. Data center sales, which are driven primarily by AI infrastructure, accounted for $89 billion of that total. More significantly for investors, Nvidia projected current-quarter revenue of $108 billion, plus or minus 2%, and signaled sustained growth ahead. CEO Jensen Huang stated that AI has reached an "inflection point," moving from experimentation to real-world deployment, with demand broadening beyond major cloud providers to include AI labs, startups, and industrial customers. The strong results and outlook initially sent Nvidia shares up approximately 7% in premarket trading on August 27.
