Nscale reportedly seeks $3.5B pre-IPO financing
AI cloud infrastructure provider Nscale is in advanced discussions to secure approximately US$3.5 billion in financing ahead of a planned initial public offering, according to people familiar with the matter. The London-based company is reportedly seeking to sell up to US$1.5 billion in convertible notes to a group of investors, with New York-based hedge fund Third Point expected to lead this portion of the investment. Additionally, Nscale aims to secure about US$2 billion in financing from chip manufacturer Nvidia. Goldman Sachs is advising on the fundraising effort. The company is briefing potential investors on its substantial contracted value, which stands at approximately US$103 billion. This figure has significantly increased, nearly doubling from around US$51 billion just a month prior, largely due to a six-year, US$45 billion agreement signed on August 26 to provide computing power to AI company Anthropic. This deal, which Microsoft and Google reportedly declined earlier in the summer, is seen as a key factor anchoring the company's upcoming stock market debut.
