Nothing launches $399 Headphone 1 Pro in the U.S.

Nothing has introduced its Headphone 1 Pro over-ear headphones at $399, with U.S. availability beginning September 29. The company’s new flagship model adds three drivers in each earcup and studio-oriented sound controls, including a physical switch for a flat equalization profile developed with Metropolis Studios. Each earcup combines a 40-millimeter dynamic driver for bass, a separate driver for midrange sounds such as vocals and instruments, and an xMEMS treble driver. Nothing says the arrangement gives each part of the frequency range its own driver. The company also offers additional sound adjustments through its Nothing X app, along with spatial-audio modes and EQ presets. The Flat EQ switch is intended to move quickly to a more neutral sound profile for listening to or working with mixes. Nothing developed the feature with Metropolis Studios. The headphones also include a Studio B spatial-audio mode designed to simulate the studio’s mixing room, according to the company. Nothing rates battery life at up to 30 hours with active noise cancellation on and up to 68 hours with it off.
