Northern Rail launches flash sale with 4 million £2 tickets

Northern Rail has launched a major flash sale, making four million train tickets available for just £2 each for travel across the North of England. The sale, which began on September 2, is scheduled to end on September 4, 2026. The discounted tickets are valid for journeys taken between September 9 and October 23, 2026. The operator, which runs 2,650 services daily to more than 500 stations, is offering the reduced fares on a wide range of routes. Popular destinations include major cities such as Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, and York, as well as coastal spots like Blackpool. The sale also covers journeys to Manchester Airport and along the scenic Settle-Carlisle line. Children's half-price tickets are available for £1, making the offer particularly attractive for family travel. Alex Hornby, commercial and customer director at Northern, stated that the flash sale aims to make rail travel more appealing and inspire people to explore the region. "With four million tickets up for grabs, this is one of our biggest Flash Sales yet, and there's something for everyone," he said.
