Published 12 September 2026

Police in Anambra State, Nigeria, have arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, for allegedly sexually exploiting her eight-year-old daughter and uploading abusive material to an online platform for financial gain. The arrest, which took place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, followed the circulation of disturbing material online that drew public attention and prompted an investigation. During the police operation in Onitsha, four children aged two, three, six, and nine were rescued from the couple's care. Officers also recovered items considered relevant to the case, including sex toys. The suspect is currently in police custody. According to the Anambra State Police Command, the suspect allegedly admitted during interrogation to earning money from the uploaded material, stating the highest amount she received was 300. She reportedly claimed her husband was unaware of the abuse and attributed her actions to the devil. The police said investigators are also examining claims that the suspect's first daughter may have been subjected to similar abuse. The suspect's husband is being questioned to determine if he had any knowledge of or connection to the alleged offenses.
