Nigerian Ports Report Q2 Cargo Rise Reforms Drive Growth

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 27 vessels are scheduled to arrive at three major ports in Lagos within the next two weeks, between September 7 and September 20, 2026. According to the authority's Daily Shipping Position, these vessels are expected at the Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea, and Tin Can Island Ports. Of the 27 vessels, 10 are expected to carry containers with various commodities. The remaining ships will deliver crude oil, aviation fuel, general cargo, bulk gypsum, sugar, and salt. The NPA also reported that seven vessels and tanker ships were already at the ports awaiting berthing, with plans to discharge bulk urea, petrol, and diesel. Additionally, 20 other vessels are currently engaged in cargo discharge operations, handling commodities such as bulk wheat, containers, fresh fish, general cargo, bulk fertilizer, pallets, bulk urea, bulk gas, and petrol.
