Nigeria GDP grows 4.43% in Q2 2026 on services, agriculture

Nigeria's economy expanded by 4.43 percent in the second quarter of 2026, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, marking an acceleration from the 4.23 percent growth recorded in the same period of 2025. The report, published on August 31, 2026, indicates that the services sector and agriculture were the primary drivers of this growth, while the industrial sector showed a notable slowdown. The NBS stated that real Gross Domestic Product increased from N51.20 trillion in Q2 2025 to N53.47 trillion in Q2 2026. In nominal terms, aggregate GDP at basic prices stood at N119.29 trillion during the quarter, an 18.43 percent year-on-year increase from N100.
