Nicolo Bulega to Join MotoGP in 2027

World Superbike Championship leader Nicolo Bulega is set to make a full-time move to MotoGP in 2027, signing with the satellite VR46 Ducati team. The announcement of his transition to the premier class follows a dominant performance in the WorldSBK, where he has broken multiple records. Bulega's journey to MotoGP has been a long-anticipated one. After a challenging period in Moto3 and Moto2 from 2017 to 2021, he found significant success in World Supersport, clinching the championship in 2023. He then moved to the factory Aruba.it Ducati team in WorldSBK, where he continued his winning trajectory. Bulega finished as runner-up in the WorldSBK championship in both 2024 and 2025, and has been the dominant force in the 2026 season, winning 26 of the first 27 races. He currently holds a substantial lead in the standings with only three rounds remaining. His performances have not gone unnoticed by Ducati management. Bulega previously served as a stand-in rider for Marc Marquez in MotoGP last year, finishing 15th in both appearances. He has also gained experience testing new MotoGP Pirelli tires and the 850cc engine, which will be introduced in 2027.
