NFL Investigating Eagles Security Chief After Acho Podcast Comments
The National Football League is investigating Philadelphia Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro following public comments by former player Emmanuel Acho, according to multiple reports citing veteran Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn. The investigation stems from an account Acho gave on his Speakeasy podcast in early August, in which he described a traffic accident from his playing days and alleged that team security intervened to manipulate the official response. Acho, who played for the Browns, Eagles, and Giants, said he re-ended another vehicle while driving to practice and called team security. According to his account, a staffer instructed him to send the first responding officer away and wait for a second officer who would place fault on the other driver. Acho stated that is what happened. He added that after the other driver learned he was an NFL player, the head of security offered her two home tickets and signed jerseys, which she declined. Acho did not name the team or the security official in his podcast story, but speculation quickly centered on the Eagles and DiSandro, who has served as the team's chief security officer since 1999.
