Netherlands withdraws from 2027 Eurovision citing neutrality concerns

The Netherlands will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, marking the second consecutive year the country has withdrawn from the event. Dutch public broadcaster AVROTROS announced the decision on Monday, August 24, 2026, stating the contest can no longer be considered neutral due to ongoing international conflicts and their impact on the competition. In a statement, AVROTROS said it would not take part "because the event can no longer be considered neutral, with a participating country still involved in a large-scale military conflict.
