Netflix Unveils Trailer for Mike Tyson Documentary Series

Netflix has released the trailer for "Tyson," a four-part documentary series about the life of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The series, directed by Floyd Russ, is scheduled to premiere on the streaming service on October 13, 2026. The documentary is described as an "unfiltered and deeply personal" portrait that traces Tyson's journey from a chaotic childhood in Brooklyn to global superstardom. It will cover his rise as the youngest heavyweight champion in history, as well as the subsequent controversies, including his prison sentence and the infamous ear-biting incident with Evander Holyfield. The trailer features a mix of archival fight footage, personal interviews, and new commentary from Tyson himself. In one moment, he reflects on his past behavior, saying, "I was a nut back then, huh?" The series promises to include never-before-seen material and rare access to Tyson's family, friends, and adversaries. Floyd Russ, who previously directed Netflix documentaries on O.J. Simpson and the Boston Marathon bombing, is at the helm. The project is produced by Jenna Millman, Jacob Miller, and Alexa Ginsburg, with executive producers including Bill Simmons.
