Netflix Sets December Premiere for JonBenét Ramsey Limited Series
Netflix will premiere a scripted limited series about the unsolved murder of child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey on December 10, 2026. The series, titled "The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey," stars Melissa McCarthy as Patsy Ramsey and Clive Owen as John Ramsey, the parents of the six-year-old girl found dead in the basement of their Boulder, Colorado, home on December 26, 1996. The announcement, which included a first-look image of the actors, comes as the case approaches its 30th anniversary. The Boulder Police Department has received more than 21,000 tips over the decades, but no one has ever been charged in connection with the killing. The series was originally developed for Paramount by 101 Studios but was dropped after the Paramount-Skydance merger. Netflix then acquired the completed project. The show is described as exploring the devastating personal and public reckoning that followed JonBenét's death, told from multiple perspectives including the family, investigators, and the media. The case remains one of America's most infamous unsolved murders. JonBenét was reported missing on the morning of December 26, 1996, after her mother found a ransom note.
